The building of this Yellowfin bay boat was the result of the passion my wife and myself share for the outdoors. For five years we ran a 17 montauk around tampabay waiting and saving for a new boat. Our family grew to four and the little whaler was not getting it done for the entire family. We had Line-X’d the Whaler over four years ago with great success and since sprayed many many marine applications. For this boat I wanted to show how Line-X can be built into the production of our new boat! Yellowfin Yachts is conveniently located down the street from our Line-X shop and builds IMO the baddest tampabay boat!  Yellowfin gave me full access to watch the construction and incorporate Line-X into the build! I was never told to not take pictures and can not say enough on how they run the operation from how clean the shop is to how everyone knows their place in making these one of a kind fishing machines!

Yellowfin utilizes a full vacuum infusion process on all the inshore boats!

    The infusion process was complete in around 18 minutes. I believe this technology derived from NASA needing the most consistent lightweight layup possible! The advantages and results are easy to see!

This is where the Line-X starts. Here are a few pictures of the fuel tank going into the Yellowfin. Using Line-X to protect one of the most vital components of a boat from the corrosive effects of saltwater is a no brainer!

 Besides spraying the fuel tank we are going to match the Whisper Grey gelcoat  for the front storage area! This is done using a special camera to take a picture of the hull color and match it to a paint code to be used in our shop Dupont system! This allows us to color code the Line-X to the Whisper Grey Hull. We also have the Yellowfin Ice Blue and Matterhorn White ready at our shop!

There is not one straight line on Yellowfin boats! Like a fine women they get lot’s of attention where ever they go! These boats are built to fish and do it well! This is the lid for the battery compartment which resides below the font storage out of the way! It is a good example of both the Line-X non-skid and the custom stencil work we can incorporate into your boat,truck, & jeep!

It was well over a week that my boat sat waiting to go to assembly.                       Line-X has been protecting the lawn service fleet for Jeffries lawn service for over 5 years. Having seen first hand how Line-X stands up to the day to day abuse his crews put on Line-X Jeffries decided Aspart-X is the product for their new showroom. Like Line-X a good job starts in one place -prep! We use a diamond floor grinder to achieve a level and profiled floor to accept the Aspart-X polyaspartic coating. The advantage of using a diamond grinder for floor prep is the ability to leave a aggressive profile without damaging the concrete. For instance using a shot blaster will leave a profile similar to a golf ball and also damage the concrete surface in the process.

 Aspart-X has a high elongation which provides a final product that will withstand heavy impact without cracking. Also like many of the Line-X products it dries very very fast! In fact it can be walked on in as little as one hour and put into full service the very next day! Jeffries Service Center sells Hustler lawn mowers & red max power hand equipment. Using Hustler’s yellow colors against a green chip floor provided just the look they were after! We also included Jeffries logo in to the floor itself!                 Marine Dreams of Bradenton Florida has been a valuable customer to Line-X for the past few years.  We have sprayed aquarium stands with Line-X to protect and seal the wood against the harsh and unforgiving salt water.  Marine Dreams recently relocated their shop, and hired Line-X to complete a high performance floor to compliment the beautiful aquarium showroom. Line-X was hired to develop and complete a seamless multi-build quartz flooring system using the new Aspart-X flooring technology by Line-X

        Having first decided to go with a “cheaper” epoxy floor system Marine Dreams unfortunately found out the hard way cheaper is not always better. The list of what went wrong with the initial floor our competitors used is long including wrong color, swirl marks in the floor, mismatching compared the chosen floor sample and so on. The contractor not only lost thousands of dollars but he was also left responsible to remove the floor himself since the hired company would not return calls and went missing in action! (We were somewhat surprised how easily the epoxy floor system was removed; large sheets came up very easily!) Under a tight timeline for completion Line-X was called to apply the Aspart-X Quartz Floor System in a hurry at Marine Dreams.   

           Quartz was an ideal solution for the Marine Dreams floor. You can imagine the potential for slip and fall accidents in a saltwater aquarium store. Quartz provides a durable colorfast floor that provides a high level of non-skid and is available in multiples of color combinations. I invited the owners of Marine Dreams to the Line-X shop to see first hand the durability of Aspart-X in use at our facility! Aspart-X is available in solid color, chip, & quartz floor systems. We also have the ability to sit down with the customer and blend the colors to their choosing right on the spot!
